Department for Psychotraumatology

Department for Psychotraumatology

Severe accidents or illnesses bring with them not only physical, but often also psychological pain.

Using differential diagnostic procedures, the team in the Department for Psychotraumatology is responsible for identifying mental stress and trauma disorders and devising the right therapeutic measures to deal with them.

The team follows the patients in each phase of the treatment, helping them process the events and developing coping strategies to deal with first the disease or disability, and then with their reintegration into their daily lives and jobs.

Affected family members are also given support and are integrated into the psychotherapeutic process.

The therapists in the Department for Psychotraumatology work in both inpatient care as well as rehabilitation. Patients insure by the Employers Liability Insurance Association can also have access to outpatient psychotherapy.
