Clinic for Internal Medicine/Cardiology
The Clinic for Internal Medicine / Cardiology provides diagnostic treatment for a variety of diseases treated by internal medicine.
We specialise in emergency and inpatient treatment for cardio-pulmonary disease. Patients with acute and life-threatening diseases such as myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, various shock form and cardiovascular arrest immediately receive optimal, (often surgical) interventional care.
Every year, about 11 000 patients with medical diseases present themselves to the emergency room, and around 4 200 patients are admitted to hospital. Special ambulances guarantee top quality care for rare and serious illness.
The ward comprises 72 beds, 20 of which have telemetry monitoring capabilities.
After initial treatment in the emergency room, the terminally ill are then treated in the interdisciplinary intensive care ward.
In addition, the Department of Internal Medicine has an interdisciplinary, cutting-edge endoscopy / gastroenterology department with 24-hour standby endoscopy. In functional diagnostics all common diagnostic methods common to internal medicine are used.
