Burn Centre with Plastic Surgery

Burn Centre with Plastic Surgery

The Burn Centre with Plastic Surgery is one of the largest and most state-of-the-art burn centres in Europe for children and adults. It is responsible for the acute care of severe burns and the treatment of related complications using the patient’s own skin, artificial or cultured skin. We aim to rehabilitate the patient to the most functional, aesthetic and social living standards. By integrating family members into the healing process, the medical team provides comprehensive holistic care for the patient.

Plastic surgeons, ICU doctors, specially trained ICU nurses, physiotherapists and trauma psychotherapists work closely together in treating severe burn patients. The Centre has a total of 12 intensive treatment rooms for severe burn patients.

Our reconstructive surgery not only treats the effects of burns, it also treats functional and aesthetic damages from other causes. This includes skin tissue defects, especially the reconstruction of female breast tissue following breast cancer. Complex reconstructive methods are also used in treating bedsores and chronic wounds.

The centre also specialises in cosmetic surgery.
