Quality Management in Nursing

Quality Management in Nursing

Even before the ukb opened, nursing quality management was one of our top concerns, and has continued to be so, undergoing continuous development and innovation.

In June 2006, we decided to adapt our nursing quality management to the DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 requirements, and to have our structures and processes assessed and audited externally for the first time for certification.

The quality management of our nursing has been certified by DIN EN ISO since December 2006, and was successfully recertified in 2012 and 2015.

The ukb was one of three supraregional institutions to work on pilot projects to introduce expert standards in decubitus prophylaxis, discharge management, pain management, fall prevention and promotion of continence. These have been introduced and adapted to the ukb, and their quality evaluated according to the hospital’s high standards.
