Statutory accident insurance is accountable for both rehabilitation and compensation (pension), which are separated in the remainder of the social security system. The trauma clinics make a significant contribution to the overall care of the population because, with their traumatological special disciplines, the BG clinics are available to all patients insured under statutory and private health insurance. In many BG clinics special indications are now treated, which do not fall within the typical sphere of trauma medicine, but for which there is a public need. These include leisure and sport-related accidents or those occurring in the household, as well as occupational diseases.
