The task of the Nursing Services consists in giving our patients comprehensive and compassionate care, encompassing all aspects of life, combine with the wide-ranging expertise and consideration of individual needs. We plan out our nursing methods with great care and based on the latest findings in nursing science. The nursing personnel at the ukb understands the situation you are in. Discuss your needs with our nurses, ask them your questions, and share your concerns with us. It is our goal to make you feel at home and safe with us, and that your concerns are met to your satisfaction.
Our nursing staff cover 19 wards. There are 10 peripheral wards with 36 beds each, 3 wards in the treatment centre for spinal cord injuries with 20 beds each, 2 wards in the Clinic for Neurology with Stroke Unit and Early Rehabilitation with a total of 70 beds, 2 ICU wards led by Anaesthesiology with 14 beds each, the Centre for Burns with Plastic Surgery with 8 beds and an intensive monitoring war with 13 beds.
Nursing Quality Management
Even before the start and certainly since then, nursing service has been constantly subject to rigorous quality control. In June 2006 came the decision to align the quality management system of the nursing service in accordance with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and to examine the structures and processes as part of a certification audit, and for the first time externally. Since December 2006, the quality of nursing service management system is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 in December 2010 it wassuccessfully recertified. The UKB is one of only three facilities to have participated in projects to introduce the expert standards for pressure ulcer prevention, redundancy management, pain management, fall prevention and promotion of urinary continence, and was designated a model institution. These have been adapted internally to the ukb, then introduced and tested on our quality implementation.Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin
